Re: Help with Synchromuse Session for Sleep Induction
Hi Bob,
Sorry to say but mp3 playback is notoriously difficult to trigger reliably. The reason is that mp3 is a compressed format that eliminates vital information especially that contained at the beginning of the file. It tends to attenuate high frequencies as well which has proven to be a problem at times. FLAC, AAC and OGG formats are what will be preferred going forward for Synchromuse work probably.
Manual triggering of the session even with a delay of a second or two should not really be noticeable in practice. Maybe at faster flicker rates or really tightly synchronized sessions but the Sleep Induction likely won't have these issues.
There is no current way to tell exactly what session is in what slot on the Procyon however when you get one that triggers with Synchromuse I believe when you return to the SES mode that session will be cued up and indicated by the number on the display.
Sorry about the mp3 issue, I and some others can get it to work under certain conditions or devices but FLAC is the way to go. If someone wants an AAC file for iOS devices please let me know.
