Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
Dear team, are you still supporting this hardware?
And is this version of the monitor supposed to work on Windows 10? Program starts OK, and when I click on "Connect", the "serial setup" window pops up. I then click on "attempt auto-connect", and immediately, a green light appears at COM1 below. The program's main light indicator on the top left switches from red to green as well, but only for a second, then turns to yellow and stays there.
As such, I can't use the device on my PC - any hints on how to fix this?
I was also interested in purchasing the "mental games" software you offer - but if even the basic monitor doesn't work on my pc, it seems a bit of a risk to pay more $$ for software that might not work on my laptop...
Please advise and best regards
Michael
Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
Hello Michael;
Sorry for the trouble!
Are you using the ThoughtStream that has a USB connection?
Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
Yes, it's the version with the USB connector.
Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
I assume you've installed the driver?
Does it work properly with the older ThoughtStream USB software?
If you have the driver installed, please use the FindPorts program I wrote to let you know which COM port the ThoughtStream is using.
Let me know what you find.

Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
Perfect, Andy - with the FindPorts program the correct port was identified, I selected that in the program, and it ran fine :-)

Not sure this screenshot attaches correctly - have some questions on this:
The y axis goes from 4 to 16 in my example - what does that mean?
Started on level 8 with a 20% goal - after 3 minutes it's at -60% change but still on level 8 - shouldn't that have changed?
Thanks for any leads on this :-)
Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
Have you gone through the manual? It's part of the .zip file you downloaded.
Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
I found out the issue was the setting on the Thoughtstream device itself: From a prior session, it was at level 4 or 5 while the monitor software starts per default at level 8. The two do not sync and that's what corrupted the entire reading. Note to self: Make sure to reset the device manually to level 8 before starting with the monitor. That seems to have taken care of the problem :-)
Re: Trouble getting ThoughtStream software to work
That's great news and a good tip!
The TS does not receive any information or control from the computer, it merely spits out raw data so what you're saying makes sense.
