Good news!
After a lot of work and testing, we are proud to announce a new OS and Editor for the Procyon!
Here's a few highlights:
The editor has some enhancements as well:
- Selectable Auto-Off. The Procyon can now be toggled between auto-timeout after 80 minutes (as in previous OS) and "always on". Pressing the "Play/Stop" (top) button while in AS or dAS mode will toggle this function. Display reads "AS " or "dAS" when in auto-off mode, and "AS_" or "dA_" when in "always on mode". In the always-on mode, the console will not shut off until manually powered off. This function will work when powered by batteries or USB.
- New AS Mode. Some people were interested in a new AS mode that responds to analog level changes, especially when using the console with AS-generating software. This new mode (called "Analog") allows the level of the AS signal to control the light intensity. It is an advanced mode and has several additional control parameters. For people using factory-made AS tracks, the original "Digital" AS mode is still simpler to use. To toggle between the modes, press the up/down button while is AS mode. The display will show "Dlg" for digital and "AnL" for analog. Using the new AS mode will be explained further in another document.
- Self-test Function. While stopped in Session mode ("SES") press the play/stop and M/II buttons simultaneously. The LED display, audio and lightframes will run through a self-test. Useful to make sure everything's working properly.
- LED display blanking. In most modes, pressing the M/II and up/down buttons simultaneously will turn off or on the LED display on the console.
- External audio level. While running an internal session or an external session (via the Editor) any external audio being fed to the console via the "Aux" connection can be turned up or down. While the session is running, press the up/down (bottom) key and the display will go from A0 (indicating ext. audio off) to A8 (ext. audio max level).
See attached pdf for a summary of the new key combinations.
- One editor for Rev1 and Rev2 consoles.
- AS parameters can be controlled within the editor without needed the advanced editor mode.
- Minor bugs have been fixed.
- New drivers for Vista (available separately)
Please let me know if you discover any problems with this editor and OS.
If you already have a working driver, you do not need to dowload and install the new driver. Uninstalling your old editor should keep those drivers.
IMPORTANT!!
The unified Procyon Software Installer should allow you to un-install the previous editor if needed before installing this new editor.
USE ONLY THIS NEW EDITOR (v2.2) TO DO THE UPGRADE! It will automatically pick the correct OS for your particular console (Rev1 or Rev2).
Using the wrong OS will cause your Procyon to stop functioning!
