Are there programs that can help me to "see images" when I think of an object? I can not produce images in my mind's eye, only when I sleep? Thanks in advance - Erling

I forget it, its a Kasina I use :-)
Mind machine programs? Not as such, or at least in the sense that a 'secret key' to mass virtual reality access to the collective unconscious has been discovered. Would be great though...
However, many of the programs are designed to lead the user into ideal states of mind for visualization. Note, that the creative visualization categories we have on some of our machines usually have a wide range of frequencies so that the user might 'surf' through brainwaves. The Creative Visualization group on the Procyon are some of my favorites.
Still, let's back up a moment.... orange, police car, baby bed, race track, guitar .... what did you see? You knew what I was talking about, but how? Not the word. You took the word and an image popped up in your mind that provided your personal definition of this object. It happened instantaneously. Now your police car and guitar for instance were probably different from mine. Ask yourself, what exactly did I see? What color was it? What were the markings on the car? What type of guitar?
You see at that moment for a general term, you still make a specific association. Next think of categories: types of guitars for instance. Run as many as you can through your mind.
People have a deep misunderstanding of visualization and I wonder where it comes from? I guess we love the detail of dreams. But we are dreaming all the time at some level. If you can tune into this waking dream. It is the 'nonsense' of free flowing creative thought that lies under the surface. Artists tap into it.
So, I would say, first shed the illusion that you cannot visualize. It is more 'vividness' that you want. That comes with small tests and experiments. You must not only want to do this, but put effort into it.
No machine is going to do it for you. Having said that, the time you spend in mind machine sessions is the ideal time and state to practice. The content of the sessions themselves can be useful in regards to color, movement, even form.
Theta based sessions such as those in the Trance folder have a good range of frequencies for these purposes.
Hope this helps,
Scott
