Thread: ThoughtStream Interface Software

  1. Default ThoughtStream Interface Software

    Hi,

I am working on skin conductance analysis.
I came across the product Thoughtsteam biofeedback device and the interface software which can be used to store the session data.

I have few queries regarding the software:

1)What is the sampling frequency, i.e. how many samples one can get using this software+hardware?
2)Is the graph obtained, the raw skin conductance?
3)What all one should need to purchase (in terms of hardware) to store the data, i.e. is the biofeedback device sufficient or I should explicitly purchase the cable.
4)The session saved in the .tst format can be readable using some normal text editor like notepad or wordpad?
5)Can you give me the sample file in .tst format so that I can see what is the proper output.

I would be grateful to you if you could help me.

    Waiting for your reply.

    Thanks,

    Payas

    Hello Payas and welcome!

This thread has some information about the TS data:
    http://www.mindplacesupport.com/foru...hread.php?t=71

I don't know the sampling frequency, but the above thread has a document which may answer that question.

The sensor is reading skin conductance.

If you want to store the data, you would need to get the RS-232 cable and if your computer does not have an RS-232 port, you would need to get a USB->RS-232 adapter.

    Good luck!

    -Andy.

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for the reply.
Could you let me know that the TS interface software available at
    http://www.elixa.com/download/Though...20version).zip

will this be able to store the session recordings of the skin conductance.
Because I have seen that the there is an option of "save session".

I would be glad if you could send me one sample file, so that I can get the clear perspective of the kind of the information does this software will store.

    Hello;

I would download the software from:
    http://www.mindplacesupport.com/ThoughtStream.htm

As the latest software will always be on MP's support site.

I haven't got a file created by this software yet, but I can run it with the TS and send you the file.

Here is some sample data files from a short run of the program that I just did. The .hdr file shows the settings, and the .txt file has the actual data.

The documentation from the other thread shows that the data is being read every 0.5 seconds.
