Thread: Automatic Shutoff/Synchromuse

    Default Automatic Shutoff/Synchromuse

Is the maximum length of time the unit stays on still 80 minutes? Has anyone found a way to circumvent this, or is a fix in the making?

Also, any word yet on the progress Mindplace is making on converting their audiostrobe CD's to synchromuse?

    Hello and welcome!

Stay tuned for a new Procyon OS coming soon that will address the timeout issue for AS.

I'm not sure that MP had any immediate plans to convert AS discs to Synchromuse as the AS discs are copyrighted and not actually made by MP. They are working on the idea of building an editor that allows users to make their own Synchromuse discs and also having some Synchromuse discs made from scratch for sale. No ETA on that, I'm afraid!

That would be great for the AVS industry and would really introduce another market for the Procyon . I'm sure that there are lots of people out there who really like Audiostrobe, and 3 Colour encoded music would be awesome and an added attraction for all the people who allready own older AS compatable gear, but haven't had a good reason to upgrade. An open source program would encourage people to tinker with sound and light without having to produce commercial size releases.

A lot of the AS encoded music around has been out for a long time and the vast majority of it has been made to be compatable with all kinds of glasses which means most of them have both Left and Right light channels triggering at the same time. This gets a little `ho hum' when you are used to 2 colour programs at least.

The main AS encoding software is $400 Euro, a little too much for the average tinkerer who will never recoup the money if they don't produce a `commercial ' AS release.
