HI,
I am planning to do some sessions myself. Whereas I am very experienced with audioproduction and the use of Ableton live I am wondering about basic "rules" regarding the entrainment.
Am I going to stay in one frequency range to get the maximum effect? I am wondering as it obviously would make sense to sync the lightpulses to the tempo of the song which usually stays static (of course it is possible to change that during the track as well but I am not sure if this isn't contraindicated.
Is there any negative aspect if I change frequencies more wild, aiming for primarily nice visual effects?
What happens if I do a frequencymodulation on the lightpulse (e.g. main frequency 20 Hz but 10 Hz on top with less modulation intensity so the light pulses 20 times a second but has an increase / decrease in intensity every 2 pulses?
How do different waveforms affect the experience and effect?
Is it better to switch on and off pretty abrupt (square wave modulation) or more gentle (sine wave for example)?
Does modulation of ground colours have an effect other from looking more interesting?
What exactly happens if you flash with a different frequency per eye? Why would you do this?
What is the difference if ou flash 20/sec just red or 10 red 10green or other ratios?
Is there anywhere a guide to the effects different modulation options have?
Ableton has a very nice way to automate things but I don't wnat to spend time and end up having a great automation but no effect or even a bad effect.
Thanks for helping
