Mental games won't recognize Thoughtstream
I recently purchased the Thoughtstream with Mental Games. I purchased A converter cable since I did not have a serial port on my pc. The Thoughtstream interface software is able to recognize the Thoughtstream device, but the mental games software will not recognize the device. What can I do to fix the problem?
Re: Mental games won't recognize Thoughtstream
Hi Eric;
Do you know what com port the converter is creating?
Have a look at this thread if you're not sure: http://www.mindplacesupport.com/foru...hread.php?t=37

Re: Mental games won't recognize Thoughtstream
The first converter cable I used created ports 3-8 depending on the usb slot I used. The second cable I got from Radio shack created ports 9+.
I followed the advice and set the port value through the device manager. 3-12 said they were in use. I tried using port 2 (was warned against it) and the mental games software was able to recognize the thoughtstream.
Hopefully my problems are over:icon_rolleyes:
Re: Mental games won't recognize Thoughtstream
You should be able to set the port to anything from 3 to 8 (even though it says they are in use) and be able to connect. Or just leave it at 2 if there's no problems.
