Display change after updating OS

Hi Forum,

I updated my OS on my PROCYON to 2.1.4 which is what shows on the display now. I have now noticed that when I press the UP/DOWN arrow button when the unit is operating I get A1 being displayed. If I press it again, A2, and so on up to A7. The only difference I can see is if I have headphones on, I get a clear sound or a shush sound in the background.

Does this function serve a specific purpose?
