The Limina is here!
The Limina replaces our Proteus and Procyon devices, and includes all the sessions from our Sirius and Procyon model, adapted to the Kasina Basic Session (KBS) format. Also due to the many requests weve been receiving for gamma sessions, there are a number of those included as well. About 100 sessions altogether.

KBS sessions are classic AVS sessions, with the audio consisting of binaural beats, Isochronic tones (multiple waveforms), and pink noise as options. It uses the same RGB GanzFrames as the Kasina, and is compatible with Kasina DeepVision as well. It can decode SpectraStrobe and AudioStrobe signals played through the AUX audio input, and can connect to your computer via the included USB cable, allowing firmware updates and transfers of your own custom sessions into internal memory. And the compact LCD display is clear and easy to navigate.

The retail price will be $259 and if you decide to order one, and if you like it, please leave a kind review on Amazon! having good reviews really makes a big difference. And if there is anything you dont like about it, please let us know directly, so we can do the beat we can to correct it.

With thanks,

Hello, all--

We've just started shipping our new DeepVision glasses for the Procyon; these are basically identical to the Kasina version, except in that case, the LEDs on the right side are in opposite phase to those on the left.

Scott has been working on a batch of sessions intended for use with the DV, with intense visual imagery as the main goal. And in my experience with them, he's achieved that goal.

Though I tend to keep brightness at maximum settings when using our AVS systems, try starting out with a lower brightness level, then gradually increase it to suit your taste.

Both models are available now on www.mindplace.com, and will shortly be available as fulfilled by Amazon. Retail price is $99, with free shipping within the Continental USA when you order from mindplace.com.
These issues were edited, and featured regular contributions by Michael Hutchison, whose earlier book "Megabrain" spurred the rapid growth of innovation and public interest in the mind-technology field. The articles and essays contained in these issues were authored by key figures of the time, often Ph.D. clinicians and researchers, and ranged from audio-visual and cranial-electrical stimulation to smart drugs, neurofeedback, etc. They comprise a record of the first 'renaissance' of neurotechologies, and provide a richly elaborated background for our Youtube videos from our 1992 Neurotechnology Forums, which featured Dr.'s Tom Budzynski, Len Ochs, Larry Paros, Stephen LaBerge and Julian Isaacs, as well as the legendary 'Awakened Mind' educator and visionary, Anna Wise.

Many thanks to our Forum member Robinhood for providing us with PDFs of his scans from his personal collection, and to Neuroasis for cleaning and otherwise preparing them for presentation on our site.

MindPlace acquired the publication rights to this series some years ago, and we're happy to provide them to our community, at no cost, for personal non-commercial use.

Greetings, all--

We've recently learned that Carrie Searley, producer at UK-pop.com, has created a Procyon review for their upcoming TV series, "The Unearthly Hour", which she has just posted on youtube.

She makes the interesting suggestion that the somewhat psychedelic imagery that most of us see when using the Procyon (and other AVS systems) is due to the lights causing the pineal gland to produce small amounts of DMT in the brain...

Enjoy!

Imagine using your Procyon or Kasina to turn an entire wall, ceiling, chill room into an open-eyes full color mind machine... or having several people simultaneously share the brightest 'eyes-closed' experience imaginable. Well, now you can do that with our new MindPlace Environmental Lighting System (MELS). We have one set up in our office, and it's most impressive.

It consists of a custom-designed, 72 watt power supply and a high powered RGB LED array, plus required connecting cables. The LED array features 18 Edison-style 3 watt RGB LEDs in a rugged aluminum frame/heat sink, and the LEDs are sealed behing tempered glass. They are rated at a 50,000 hour life, so you should have many years of experiences with this kit.

If you're interested, you can find it in the 'light and sound' category on mindplace.com.

Note: when using with the Kasina, the array is driven by signals from the left side of the GanzFrames.

Greetings!

We've created a new SoundCloud Group for SpectraStrobe-encoded material. This currently includes bonus Kasina tracks from Craig Tice and some user-contributed sessions by our artist-user, Thalassa1. We may be creating a separate channel for user-contributed Kasina sessions as well, so stay posted.... You can find the group here:
https://soundcloud.com/groups/mindplace-spectrastrobe.

Currently the Group is moderated, so if you have a SoundCloud account you can send your tracks to us for approval. Our only restriction really is that you not include copyrighted materials as part of the audio portion. Since any tracks you submit from SC will count against your account limit, sending us the files directly allows us to upload them, and as our SoundCloud account is 'unlimited', we can add as many tracks as we wish.
Enjoy!

Announcing the Kasina mind media system!

Our latest light and sound system has finally entered production! Nearly three years in the making, the Kasina features a built in MP3 player, color...

Our latest light and sound system has finally entered production! Nearly three years in the making, the Kasina features a built in MP3 player, color LCD display, rechargeable lithium battery, a micro SD card slot and an 8 GB memory card. The GanzFrames are a new design, featuring three blue, two green and one red LED per eye, for a richer, more intense visual experience.

The audio files are encoded with a proprietary new technology called SpectraStrobe?, which enables independent left and right RGB control. Stylistically, the included 47 SpectraStrobe sessions range from the soothing sounds of nature to various forms of embedded modulations to evolving ambient electronic tapestries, and are grouped into similar categories of use as in the Proteus and Procyon, plus an expanded set of 'mind art' sessions crafted to take you on magical and sometimes mysterious journeys.

Kasina also includes a best-in-class AudioStrobe decoder, with 16 different color mappings to RGB, including a variety of evolving color maps. Turn your legacy AudioStrobe tracks into a colorful new experience!

You can transform any of your music with a beat into a colorful experience via the included Color Organ feature... and you have six different settings to choose from, matching the Color Organ?s response to the style of music you've selected.

The Kasina can act as a USB audio device, so you can play any audio straight from your Mac or PC if you choose to. There is an external audio input, too?connect your favorite player, smart phone etc. using the included audio patch cable. The Settings menu allows you to adjust all aspects of your experience to suit your tastes, from the external/internal audio balance to the brightness of individual colors to how long it takes when not in use for the Kasina to shut down.

Also included on the 8 GB memory card is the Kasina Basic Session Editor, for both Mac and Windows, which includes a wizard that allows you to quickly create a variety of sessions, and a bonus collection: all of the sessions found in our vintage Sirius light and sound system. Another bonus are the three SpectraStrobe creation plugins for the multitrack audio MuLab software. We've translated the QuickStart guide into 11 languages, and included them as well.

The main tool for professional authoring is Mind Workstation, from Transparent Corporation, and the NP3 Ultimate software will also be supported at launch.

The Kasina package includes the console, 8 GB micro SD card with content, 12-LED GanzFrames, comfortable ear phones, a USB charger and cable, audio patch cord, printed Quickstart guide, and soft carry case. It will retail for $349, and should be available by late November. Stay tuned for more information!

It can sometimes be helpful to listen to both the ThoughtStream's internal audio and other audio content, such as relaxing nature sounds, guided meditations, and the like. Though the ThoughtStream does not have an audio input jack, it turns out that the solution is a simple one. All you need is a stereo audio splitter (1/8" plug to 2 1/8" stereo jacks) and an audio patch cord, such as the one included with Proteus and Procyon. Just plug the splitter into the ThoughtStream audio output, and your headphones into one of the two jacks. Then patch your CD/mp3 player into the other audio jack, and adjust the volumes of the two systems until you find the proper mix level for each source. Now turn both on, start your audio, close your eyes and? relax!

He's taken a different approach to AS encoding than Scott Hendrickson: Scott wrote his own audio software plug-ins for this purpose, while Craig uses Mind Workstation (and these tracks are great illustrations of how you could use MWS to create your own content). Craig uses modulated noise to make the AS tracks, lending them a somewhat 'fizzy' or shimmery effect.
