Thread: Confused about sine wave

    Default Confused about sine wave

I was reading a post, that I can't find now, that was stating that the sine wave is not as effective as a square wave. Are there studies with an EEG showing this? If so, why does the Procyon only use sine?

    Thanks
    Jeff

Square waves will provoke a stronger response, but will also produce harmonics, so even though you are entraining to alpha, you will also be stimulating beta in the multiples of that frequency. They can be kind of harsh to listen to also.
