I bought a new mobo and this one doesn't have a connector at the back anymore so I need a cable. I had in store an old DB9 cable that has a 10 pin female connector at the other end and it didn't work.
I located information that I thought was going to work; it involved a cable with a few pins switched and I was going to solder that or buy somewhere.
Alas I didn't record the site and now when I tried to look for similar info, all I could find was a picture with a sort of twisted cable. The page said there are two types of cables... so maybe I did end up at the right page after all.
But there was no real, specific info about what the name of the cable is (or does it have the same name, DB9).
Is there a chance you Andy could help me with this?
I also bought a Profilic chip USB-RS232 converter but I couldn't get that to work either. Windows showed no trouble for it.
Thanksie.
