Thread: How do I listen to a music CD during Proteus session?

Question How do I listen to a music CD during Proteus session?

I'm a new user and confused about how to use a music CD while doing a Proteus session. For example, if I want to listen to a classical music CD do I connect the output from the CD player to the Proteus auxillary feed? Or do I simply not use the Proteus headphone jack at all and only the glasses? Thanks, Pilgrim Free

Just hook the CD headphone jack to the Proteus aux jack. Might want to look at your Proteus manual. It's pretty good for describing these kind of things.

Tom: Thanks for the reply. I assume you mean to get a cord with a jack at each end and then plug it into the aux receptor of the Proteus and the other end into the headphone receptor of the CD or MP3 player I have. If so, I'll go out and buy such a cord. By the way have you done this and do you find it helpful? Also, does the music replace or override the sound coming from the Proteus or does that stay in the background. Thanks, PF

If you purchased a new Proteus, it comes with the cable you need.

Both sounds are mixed together. With the latest OS (2.8) you can adjust the internal tones to be lower in volume if desired. Information regarding that is in the pdf on the Proteus page on the support site.

Andy's right , this cord should come with your Proteus (mine did). You need to play around a bit with cd/mp3 player volumes and tone volume (on the proteus volume control knob) to get the right balance. You'll need to play with this yourself to see what works best for you.

Andy: I have a new Proteus but it didn't come with the cord. Can I get one sent to me? PF
