Thread: Exterior Light Strobe

    Default Exterior Light Strobe

I recall a discussion on someone who designed an exterior strobe light to replace the glasses. Can someone help me find it?
    Thanks,
    Brian

Thank you Andy for the prompt response.
Unfortunately, I?m not an electronics wiz.
I did do some research. There are a ton of led arrays on the market.
The trick would be integrating the Procyon to them.
This is where I get lost.
There was a reference about MP developing one.
Is it still in the works? Would one of the prototypes available?
I do not need it to be very powerful as I?m designing an isolation tank (from the John Lilly era) and intend to integrate this into my design.
I?m rather motivated and willing to pay a reasonable sum to accomplish this goal.
Thank you again for any assistance.
    Brian

    Hi Brian;

Perhaps there's a company or person in your city who's handy with electronics that could build this for you?

MP has looked into developing other sorts of visual products as well as the lightframes, but I do not know if there's anything that will be put out on the market soon.

    Hey Brian,

Audiostrobe is working on this. I have a prototype here, which is working fine. I like the effect. But it will take some time till this strobe is ready to be a product in the shop.

The prototypes we have in our lab would be fairly expensive to produce, due to a high-end, 1,000 + lumen LED array, but it does a nice job turning a wall or ceiling into a very colorful experience. There is actually a person in the Seattle area who combines one of these with binaural beats from loudspeakers, in a yurt, for small performances.

Glad to hear AudioStrobe is now working along these lines; Andrzej was pretty enthusiastic about the RGB eyes open ganzfeld we demonstrated to him and Markus Klose back in 2003.

We managed to persuade other manufacturers that using more than one color was a good idea, with the Proteus and Procyon...
