I am going to look into this further and if I find anything more to add, I'll be back.

The other thing is that the delivery system of an AVS machine is not such that you can target one hemisphere or the other so by directing separate frequencies to each ear will likely only result in a binaural third frequency - which would be the difference between the two frequencies.

Many thanks Marisa and Craig for your helpful suggestions.

The Session which made me quite anxious was no.30, the energy one.
The sessions I tend use are Peak composure 12 & 14 as well as any
of the meditation ones (though I find it difficult to sit the full hour.)

I'm not sure what to do at the momment. I haven't used the Procyon in a few weeks now. Maybe I'll listen to some of my own music with the lights going.

    Thanks
    Mack

Absolutely. Give yourself some more variation in the BWE field. Don't take the built in programs as the be all and end all of the experience. Try some 3rd party BWE software like Neuroprogrammer 2 which outputs Audiostrobe with the sound. I can recommend Colour Organ as well which is part of Mind Explorer software. I am in the process of burning some of my favorite ambient CD's with Audiostrobe accompanyement from NP2 and Color Organ .

BWE is still an open field , despite the built in programs that come with these machines. Explore all options , experiment with your mind and above all have fun.

I think you would do better with shorter sessions. I also have trouble sitting still for a whole hour but do enjoy a good 25 to 35 minute session like #14 or #16.

It's an excellent idea to use the lights and listen to some music you enjoy. You will still benefit from the entrainment as lights do provide a stronger form of entrainment than sound anyway. I often do this as well as work at my desk with just the sound part going. Even though sound is not as powerful of a method of entrainment, I still do get some benefit out of it. I'll put on a nice relaxing program (Alpha/Theta) sound only and then sit down and read a novel for a while. It's quite relaxing.

Let me know if you do try any of these methods and how they work for you.

One thing to always keep in mind, if what you are doing doesn't work - try something else. Also, sometimes the benefits of entrainment are not immediate and sometimes they are subtle and you don't notice them right away. This was the case for me when I was working to improve my concentration. At the time it didn't feel any different but I did notice that after doing the sessions (just sound while working at my desk) that I was actually blocking out background noise and that my focus was better. It was one of those subtle things that I didn't notice until after the fact.

    There is hope Mack.

    Hi Charles,

I don't think Mind Explorer exists anymore. I think the best program to make your own AudioStrobe Cds is the NP2 or Mind Work Station. Those products are made by Transparent Corp: http://www.transparentcorp.com/

    Charles

Mind Explorer software is still available through:

    http://www.audiostrobe.com/

I use the Colour Organ software that is part of the Mind Explorer package, to produce Audio Strobe light shows t go with my favorite ambient music for entertainment/ entrainment.

If you have a computer / laptop next to where you do yours sessions you don't have to reburn the sessions back to PC. I just run Colour Organ, call up my preset light/ sound sensitivity settings and click on the WAV file I want to listen to with the Audiostrobe accompanienment.

Interesting thread, it's good to be back!

Nice list Marisa. I think I was doing about 4 of them while I read it. I'm addicted to the ball method Very helpful stuff, I'll be sure to check out the ones that are new to me.

I have many a time tried using my procyon with NP2 and have never succeeded. Does anyone have a guide they would like to share?

    Question Re: Beginner questions

    Hi Marisa,

Another ColorOrgan question. How do you get the CD audio down to the 16bit 44khz that the ColorOrgan will accept? Windows will not import at the 44khz level.

    Thanks for any input.

    Hey G-Ice;

You must have seen this thread and tutorial, since you posted there:
    http://www.mindplacesupport.com/foru...&highlight=np2

You should start a new thread (or reply to that thread) detailing what exactly is going wrong and I'm sure Craig or Jim will jump in and help.
