Thread: Procyon power for Sony MDR-V600 Headphones

  1. Default Procyon power for Sony MDR-V600 Headphones

    Hello,

    I just got Procyon Rev 2 console. In the manual on page 12 it is mentioned that the Procyon may not have sufficient power to drive larger 'studio' style headphones.

    I have Sony MDR-V600 Headphones. I would like to know if the Procyon power is sufficient to drive this headphones or not.

    Thank you.

    My Sennheiser HD590s work just fine. I'd say try it and see what happens.

    Sure, I will try. But, if the color shades are lighter or gray because it does not have sufficient power, I won't be able to make out if it is because of the power limitations or it was the original intended color pattern. That is why it may be necessary to know how to determine which headphones will not be starved of power.

    Regards

    Hi Srikrishna;

    The larger headphones will not affect the lights or damage the Procyon. It's simply that some studio headphones that are higher impedance or lower sensitivity may require more volume to make them "loud" than the Procyon can deliver.

    There's no problem trying them out to see how they work. They will not affect the lights.

    -Andy.
