Default Re: LEDs and Eye Damage

Please note that all of our light frames are designed for closed eye use. Although it's doubtful that your eyes would be damaged by opening them and exposing them to the LEDS for a short period - there is no extra benefit to be gained by doing so.

When you use our light frames as they are intended to be used (eyes closed) all colors are perfectly safe, although blue light has a tendency to inhibit melatonin production so you do not want to design a program with strictly blue light for sleep. Having said that, the blue light is very good for relaxation. So blue = good for relaxation, stress relief etc. Blue light not so good for sleep.

The open-eye light frames on the market are of a different design than ours. I believe the lights are located around the frames not directly pointed at your eyes.

Please note - our light frames are designed for closed eye use only.

I have found that if I want to help the effects change, I can slightly "blink" my eyes (while shut--just make them slightly squeezed harder and then softer) and it starts a lot of of kaleidoscope-type effects.
