Thread: I can't find the driver anywhere

Default I can't find the driver anywhere

Where do I find the TUSB3140 driver? I can't make a connection between the Procyon Editor and the procyon itself. None of the COMs I have available connect. My Vista says I don't have this TUSB3140 driver, and the Texas Instruments website is useless.

    UPDATE:

I was able to find the driver following some instructions here in this forum, but it won't install in Vista Ultimate x64 - even though I point to the folder where the driver was extracted to, it says "unable to find driver". What should I do?

    Hi Noob;

Let me see if I can help.

The drivers are included in the editor.

Let's make sure you're selecting the correct driver for your Procyon. When you power up your Procyon, what OS does it flash up on the LED?

    OS is 1.7.4

The driver I am trying to install is the most recent, and I have tried the previous one too. Could it be the Windows version?

Another question is if I can use a regular mini-usb to usb cable. I have one here that came with my Olympus C-740.

Possibly. Not sure if the driver works with x64.

Possibly. Did you lose the one that came with your console?

Attached is a driver which works on Vista x32. Might work for x64?

    Let me know!

Ok, here are the steps I took - no success.

    1) Downloaded the driver from your link

    2) Installed the driver following the instructions

    3) Turned on the procyon - new found hardware dialog popped up

    4) Just for the sake of it I looked into Computer->Manage Computer->Device Manager and the procyon is identified under Other Devices->TUSB3410 Boot Device

    5) Clicked on "Search for driver" on the found new hardware wizard

    6) After it didn't find any drivers, I manually pointed the wizard to the folder where the drivers are and it just says it can't find the driver software.

My guess is the wizard is not looking for the correct file name.

Is there a solution for this?

My system is Intel Core 2 Extreme - Windows Vista Ultimate x64.

Sorry you're having so much trouble. I really don't know whether the drivers are compatible with x64, but let's check some things first.

    I assume you're following these instructions: http://www.mindplacesupport.com/foru...read.php?t=325

Does the folder layout look the same as in picture #14?

Does the folder layout in picture #19 exist for you to point the hardware wizard at?

    -Andy.

    Yes, I followed the instructions.

The folder layout looks exactly as picture #14. Note: In Windows Vista x64 there is a folder called Program Files (x86) and at first the editor was installed there. The folder called Program Files is for x64 applications. I also tried installing it under this Program Files folder but it doesn't make a difference.

Yes, the folder layout in picture #19 exists and even when I point the wizard there it tells me it can't find the driver software.

    10-4. Thanks for checking.

It seems like that TI driver is not x64 compatible. We will contact TI and see whether or not they have created a driver for that version of Windows.

From what I'm reading it sounds like a common problem - not being able to find drivers for Vista. I had so many issues with Vista drivers for my PC that I ended up setting my PC to dual-boot between Vista and XP since there seemed to be no solution.

Hopefully TI comes through. We'll let you know what we find out.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I wish I had a better answer for you!

Thanks, hopefully a Vista driver will be made soon. My computer is also dual boot but it's Vista Ultimate x64 and Linux Mandriva x64 - Linux runs much faster than Vista....
