Thread: Session editor defect?

  1. #1

    Default Session editor defect?

I'm trying to follow the section of Syncromuse tutorial to create DAS file.

The tutorial says "Next, we create the ?Digital/audio synchrony? (DAS) audio file. To do this you must first type the word ?enhance? (without the quotes) in the gray bar between the drop down menus and color channel information, which unlocks additional features".

This step causes me a lot of grief. I was able to unlock this menu item once, and enjoyed a great experiments with my own Syncromuse sessions... However, I was not able to make this work ever since. I tried to reinstall the editor on another machine, but still no luck.

Anyone can explain what can cause the problem? And why in the world mindplace decided to lock this feature in the first place?????

    Hi Firefly;

Sorry to hear that this is causing you such grief!

Are you clicking the mouse in the grey bar before you type "enhance"?

It works every time for me. I've attached a small video of the procedure in case that helps.

    Andy,

I follow the exact same procedure and it doesn't work.
Also, I'm not able to delete segments. After I delete segments I save the session and close it. When I open it again, it has the same number of segments as before

    Hi Firefly,

re: why in the world mindplace decided to lock this feature... ?

I was planning on making it public in the next release of the OS.
It's been delayed while working on some unresolved Vista issues.

Try the following for the 'enhance' issue.

    1) Select the menu item <Utilities> <View Status Bar> to make the Status Bar visible.

    2) Click on the gray bar just below the menu items.
A cursor should be blinking in the middle of the bar.

    3) Type a "q" to clear the buffer.

    4) Type "close" (not case sensitive)
The status bar should show the message...
    "Enhanced options are NOT active."

    5) Type "enhance" (not case sensitive)
The status bar should show the message...
    "Enhanced options are active."

    5) Type "lock" (not case sensitive)
The status bar should show the message...
    "Enhanced options are LOCKED."
This will set the enhanced option as the default startup mode.

    'close' will release the lock.

re:I'm not able to delete segments

Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
If you save it with the "Save As" menu and say "Yes" to the overwrite prompt the session will save properly.

Look for a new OS release soon.

    Best regards,
