Hi everyone,
Quite some years ago I made an album of sessions called "Brain Brightening" - first for the
Proteus, and then for the Procyon.
These sessions were designed to enhance your ability to think clearly, to brighten your mood,
and to be more creative (based on studies by Thomas Budzynski PhD and other researchers).
A few people have been in touch with me over the last couple of years, asking if I was ever
planning to produce a series of similar sessions for the Kasina - something I'm pleased to say
I've finally done.
Because the Kasina is such a different machine to the Proteus and the Procyon, it's something
I held off from doing for quite some time.
There were certain off-set frequencies and subtleties to the original Brain Brightening sessions
that required quite some work to encode into a Kasina-friendly format.
But the benefits of the Kasina are that it allows for vastly richer, more compelling soundscapes,
and it allows you to do far more with the colours, the waveform of the light pulses, as well as
alternate eye stimulation patterns.
So all in all, I think these are the most compelling, effective, immersive version of the Brain
Brightening sessions to date!
The new tracks contain a wide range of binaural and isochronic beats, along with 3D-processed
sound textures – all of which are precisely synchronised with the flickering lights and the
sweeping changes in colour.
The sessions exclusively focus on the SMR and beta range of brainwaves, which neurofeedback
research has strongly linked to enhanced cognitive performance.
Each of the eight sessions targets different frequencies in a different order, so as to provide a
variety of challenges and mental stretches for your brain.
This is the same principle as varying the exercises that you do at the gym in order to develop
all-round fitness.
The 12min track - "Quick Brain Brightening" is available here as a free download:

Do give it a go, and if you like the experience, the full Brain Brightening album is available from
my site, ExploringTrance.com, or from the Mindplace store.
All the best,
Joe Kao
