Thread: Kasina AUX cracking noise.

  1. #1

    Default Kasina AUX cracking noise.

    Hi,

Just tried to use the Kasina with AUX input.
As soon as cable is in the AUX input there is a cracking noise and when I start playing music the cracking becomes less audible but still at the background.
Another strange thing when trying to adjust volume on the device while using the AUX input the sound starts to pan?!

    Please help.

Please click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of this page and we'll get this sorted out for you. Sounds like you might have a bad cable.

    Hi Andy,

I used different cables. One turned out bad but the other one is ok. Still I have some slight static noise at the background but I guess the Kasina is not Apogee Duet that I have. It obviously generates some self noise that is audible to some of us with sensitive ears (in this case me )
Tell me if it is not the case

    Best regards, Seva.

You can try adjusting the sensitivity of the Aux input using the audio mixer. Press the vol (-) and (+) buttons at the same time and then try raising or lowering the AUX level to see if you get better S/N performance.
No, the converters are not audiophile-grade, but it does support USB audio so you can use an external converter plugged into a computer and connect to the Kasina via USB if you need that sort of performance.

Also make sure your external audio source is turned up as high as possible and then reduce the AUX or Master volume on the Kasina to taste.
Another option is to plug the headphones into your external audio source directly and use a splitter to send the audio also to your Kasina, saving a conversion step!
