Must be doing something wrong

Hello, just bought and plugged in the Thoughtstream product. Downloaded the driver for the usb and read the instructions and thought I'd followed them. But, after the initial red light and tone (with the setting to 8) the unit showed red for a bit then dropped to 1- green. There seems to be a steady beat going on in the headset, but no other sounds and nothing happening with the visuals. Help please. Thank you, sefireb
