Pointy talky

Could anyone link to or otherwise provide a "pointy talky" list of frequencies and thier effects for me please? I'm going to have a bash at some session building and I could use a referencial guide to what has what effect....
Also, I have music software so I can create some nice sounds but how are the binaural beats done? Do they work along the same lines? The audio encoding too, it seems to be just an initial tone to start the program and therefore having both running parallel. Is that about right? Thanks for your help
