Thread: coast to coast am listeners?

  1. Default coast to coast am listeners?

Anyone else a Coaster? I ask because there were two really interesting shows this week. On Sunday, Writer and researcher Lynne McTaggart discussed her new work on the science of intention, and how it relates to healing and consciousness. Living beings are receivers and transmitters of information, and thoughts have a physical reality to them, like currents of light, she stated. While there have been some methodological problems in a number of studies that tried to measure the effectiveness of prayer, other experiments have shown that mental intention or healing is effective 50-80% of the time, she reported.

Healers "power up" by getting into a meditative state, noted McTaggart-- but interestingly, a brain study of monks showed they produced gamma waves (the fastest type of brain wave) while in a state of "utter peak attention." Certain places or times can enhance mental intention, and it also helps to make the intention as specific as possible, she shared.

McTaggart plans a series of global experiments through a new website, One will involve trying to change variables such as temperature in a terrarium that will be seen on a live webcam. Ultimately, she said, the goal is to learn how to use intention for positive purposes, such as lowering the crime rate in a community.

Then Monday, scientist and healing facilitator Joyce Hawkes discussed tools for healing that allow the mind to influence biology. A biophysicist trained in hard science, her path changed after she had a near death experience in 1976. She embarked on an exploration of healing techniques in countries such as India and the Philippines, which contributed to the development of what she calls "Cell-Level Healing."

The molecules of the body are a part of our consciousness, and can be seen as sacred in themselves, she said. If someone had a problem in their pancreas, for example, she'd focus on the cells in the pancreas, rather than the organ itself, explained Hawkes, who's been a healer for the last 22 years. She suggested a healing meditation people can practice on themselves-- visualizing a gold light, spiraling deep into each cell, spinning down right into the cell's mitochondria.

She described one healing that she remotely performed on a woman in Conn. with swollen limbs. At the end of the hour, her pain was gone, and curiously, the woman said that during the healing, the face on her Rolex watch turned cloudy, and an unaffectionate cat became friendly. Hawkes also told of having her brain waves tested at Nihon University in Japan while she conducted a healing-- the tests showed a unique pattern that included delta & beta waves.

Both shows were interesting in their own right, but both guests spoke about research, and personal experience, with certain types of brain waves. Both of these shows can be streamed from a radio website up in Canada, where they archive 30 days of broadcasts. Go to Cjob AudioVault and use the drop downs to select the proper timeframes. To get to the Sunday show, you actually have to select Mon/08 (because they start broadcasting C2CAM at midnite), then select 01:00 am to get to the start of the guests section (the first hour of the show is interesting too, but covers general C2C stuff).

The same logic would go for the Monday night show (tues/09 - 1am), and these shows play for 3hrs. -1hr at a shot. You can skip the first 10minutes, or so, of each hour, unless you want to check out the canadian news.

I was impressed with both shows, and really got exited during certain sections -recognizing how their thoughts might relate to the Procyon. Hence the heads up-bios

Fascinating work, I've read some of this and seen some presented at the Tucson consciousness conferences; the fascinating study on the increased gamma synchrony in long-term meditators was also presented at the last "Mind and Life" conference in Washington DC. One wonders whether gamma-frequency stimulation could enhance global gamma synchrony, perhaps accelerating the path that has taken those meditators ten or more years to achieve.

You might also be interested in the work of Dr.s Michael Persinger, Robert Becker and Bob Beck regarding the influence of geomagnetism on consciousness; see http://www.elfis.net/elfol8/e8elfeeg2.htm for an example of an experiment by the latter which purports to provide evidence that our brains (at least sometimes) interact with, and entrain to, these EEG-range subtle vibrations.

I will also offer this link, which is a website of another coast to coast am guest. Though it is economically oriented, there is information to be had there. Likely this would be valuable for the newer reader, and not the local management.... but you never know
