Thread: Procyon does not connect with PC

  1. Default Procyon does not connect with PC

    Hi,
I'm really hoping someone can help me.
I've just received my new toys today (including Mental games) . Proceeded to install appropriate driver first, then software, then plugged in the two units.
    However, challenges...
    First, what's working:
Procyon: able to use with NP3 audiostrobe session with the glasses. Awesome!
Thoughtstream: seems to be working with pretty lights flashing & sounds via connected speaker
Now, what's NOT working for me:
Procyon: unable to use Editor. Keeps saying port closed then cannot connect
Thoughtstream: cannot pair with anything (Interface, NP3, Mental games). I read somewhere that there shd be a grey cable for the Thoughtstream, which I did not get. Only a black mini usb-usb cable came with the unit.
No idea where to go from here to get functionalities for them.
I even tried installing a serial port emulator, no luck
    I have Windows 7 64bit.
The drivers & progs I installed were: CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7_v6.3a,
    ProcyonEditorOS_2_3_00, Thoughtstream_USB_Interface_2_10
Is there a genius in the house, please?

    Regards,
    Curiouser

Let me know what COM port is being shown in Device Manager.
    I have Windows 7 64bit.
The drivers & progs I installed were: CP210x_VCP_Win_XP_S2K3_Vista_7_v6.3a,
    ProcyonEditorOS_2_3_00
    That should all be fine.
Let me know about the COM port.

    Both TS & Procyon open up ports 6, 7 & 10
I made sure to assign a particular one to each in their respective programs (eg port 6 for TS in both Mental Games & Interface, while port 7 for Procyon Editor, then swapped it around, then tried port 10 on each).
    No luck

PS: there should be a crying icon. That's what I feel like doing now.

Ooops, sorry, was too busy crying so didn?t really see your port question
Device Manager shows TS as port 21 while P is port 20
    Available ports in Interface & P Editor are 6, 7, 10
    Mental Games scans for 1-16.
    Omg, it?s like herding cats?

Ok, the problem is the port #s are too high. They need to be 1-16.

Go to the advanced settings of the driver in Device Manager and set the COM port number to something between 1 and 16.

Under Port Settings, choose Advanced and then choose COM Port number.
