Is there a setting that would be good for pain relief?

If you don't have to be awake, then the Night Voyage series (P23-27) would be best. Delta is where the body regenerates, heals and releases the natural opiates. If you need to be awake, then you could try an Alpha program (because Alpha is where serotonin is released and that can also help with pain). Alpha program P 18,19,20 or 36.
