    Default BioFeedback Interface

    Hi All
I'm a proud owner of the Procyon,
and I'm still waiting for the biofeedback device to interface with it.
I don't remember the name ... when I bought the device it was still under construction.
Anyway, I have a couple of degrees in informatics and electronics,
and I was wondering if I can build up something similar from myself.
Actually I'm working on several open source project about brain computer interfaces (e.g. http://openvibe.inria.fr/),
to do so I've bought an economic EEG System (16 channels).
Here are the geeky guys that hacked the device: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/conteckt88/
Does anybody know how the missing biofeedback device was intended to trigger the frequencies inside the procyon?
The connection was made to the aux jack? with which kind of signal?
    Thank you all in advance.
Any help will be helpful, the results will be openly published, and maybe kt88 owners will be motivated to buy your amazing device

Hello and welcome to the forums!

I will ask about the external control of the Procyon and get back to you.

    Hello!

    Here's what I've found out:
At the moment there is no simple way to control the Procyon using the aux input.
You can control the Procyon using USB, but that would necessitate the Procyon being connected to a computer.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news as your projects look very interesting!

    No problem.
I'm just developing an application that processes EEG data.
The EEG it's already interfaced to the PC.
The driver for the Procyon it's the same from Sylabs.
I just need to know how to send blocks of data to the procyon.
    Thanks

    Cheers

    Hi Andy,

I'm also interested in real-time control of the Procyon. I have had some success in sending segments from a PC program, but I would like to know the control sequences (starting 163 ... ...) for the following actions:
    1. selecting a preset already loaded in the Procyon
    2. starting and stopping the selected preset.

Can you please advise if this is possible with the current firmware.

    Thanks.

    Graham.

    Hi Graham;

Are you writing software to interface with the Procyon? There is a .dll that will allow you to control the Procyon via function calls.

    Yes Andy.

I am aware of the dll - Robert was kind enough to send me the stuff he had last year, but... it was very incomplete and somewhat out of date - it seemed to refer to earlier versions of the firmware. Using the info in those files, and monitoring the comms between the Procyon and the supplied software, I have managed to "hack" most of the control sequences etc that I need to work with the latest firmware, but I have been unable to get the 2 pieces of information requested above.

Any chance you can obtain this from your technical dept. ?

If I can put together a fairly up to date document containing all this interfacing stuff, I will of course be happy to make it available to everyone - I might even write a new dll, if I ever get the time! ( unless its already been done!).

    Many thanks for your help.

    Graham.

    Hi Graham;

I'm not sure those functions are available via external control, but I will ask and get back to you.
