Mental activity during a session

Sorry this question might have been asked many times before but I am new!

Question:

What do I mentally do while I am in a session?. For instance session P21 is for creativity enhancement. Do I have to think about the problem I am trying to solve or just passively follow the session?

Sorry again if the question sounds silly but I'll appreciate some hints.

Normally, I prefer to just lay back and enjoy the experience. I watch the colors and patterns (through closed eyes) and usually I end up falling asleep at some point because the next thing I know, the session is over.

For creativity enhancement, I use to just use the sound part while I was writing or working on something. I had good results with this method as well.

Everyone has their own way to get the most out of a session, you could try both and see what works for you.
