I might suggest though, that this only be done if you are having issues, as I have never needed to lower the speed on any PC or adaptor that I've installed so far with the Proteus. I'm sure I've just been lucky with the drivers so ymmv.

    Hello,

I've got 2 similiar problems with my Logilink usb-to-serial adapter (model UA0042):
    - first one - under XP/SP2, conditions:
    1) I've installed adapter driver
    2) I've installed ThoughtStream Interface
    3) Xp recognizes my adapter as COM4 (i.e)
    4) I've configured COM4 port - lowered transmission bufer to the lowest possible value
    5) I launch ThoughStream Interface then choose right COM port no 4
    6) lunch session and after 20s nothing happens and I receive message like this ("no data from Com port")
    7) MentalGames runs the same without any effect
    - second one - under Win7, conditions:
    1) I've got installed proper driver for Win7
    2) when I connect adapter into free usb port, windows isn't able to install device
PLEASE HELP, I'VE SPENT 4 HOURS TO SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS

    Regards

    Hi Adam;

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your USB to RS-232 adapter.

I would say that your adapter is defective in some way. I assume you went to the manufacturer's site and downloaded the latest driver?

I would just return that adapter and get a different one from a different manufacturer.

    Hi Andy,

I think you're right. I haven't managed to work this adapter proper, so I'll return it to retail and will buy another one from a different vendor.

    Thanks for Your support.
