Please help a newbie

Hi everyone

I have been lucky enough to buy a proteus system (2.3 version) in as new condition from ebay, everything came in bubble wrap and it was boxed so I was thrilled as I couldent afford to buy a new one.

my problem is that I only appear to have green lights flashing on the ganzframes that came with it.
reading the manual that came with it I understand that the red lights may be turned off? can this happen and if so how do I get them back on, also I dont have Pxx or Uxx modes but have a U01 mode instead but there is nothing in the manual about this!

have a bought a broken machine or do I just need new ganzframes ?

also if I use it with just green lights and the pre loaded programmes will I gain any benefit or can I do myself harm?
any help or advice would be gratefully recieved

Hi Sued and Welcome!

It sounds like you may have received a defective product. Are you able to return it for refund?

If not, then perhaps you can look at re-flashing the OS (firmware). To do this, you will need a windows pc with either an RS-232 (com) port or a USB to RS-232 adapter, assuming the seller included all the cables that come with a Proteus.

Let me know if you want to try and fix the problem yourself and I can step you through it.

You could also purchase a new set of GanzFrames if that's where the problem lies.

Oh BTW - Uxx means U01 or U02, or U03, etc. (xx is any 2-digit number), same with Pxx, xx is a number like 01, 02, 11, 23, etc.
