Affordable EEG to verify session effects?

I'm looking for an affordable EEG to see how different sessions actually affect my brainwave patterns. Is anyone here using something like that?

I think the best affordable EEG for BWE is the Emotiv Insight. There are others like the Muse that work well, but only have sensors on the prefrontal cortex. Entrainment is typically measured at Cz, the point at the top of your head. The Insight has a sensor at Pz, which is pretty close.

And of course the entrainment effects are most evident at the back of your head, which is where your visual cortex is located.

Does the Emotiv Insight include software or do you have to buy it separately?

There are some free apps, and some paid. The 3D Brain Map is pretty cool, but I am happy with just the free apps.

You would have to go with the Epoc to get electrode placements on the occipital lobe. At $850, I don’t consider it affordable. I’m no neuroscientist, but I am hoping the Pz placement, being farther back than Cz, might pick up activity in the occipital lobe.
