I'm really sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your Kasina!
What's happening is when you are "Browsing for Firmware" you are looking at the firmware in the Kasina. What you want to look for is the firmware file you downloaded from the support site.
Please go here and click on "Firmware" and download the file to a location that's easy to find, like your desktop.
Then, when you "Browse for firmware update", go to that location (your desktop or wherever) and select that .zip file.
Continue on with the instructions from the firmware updater to complete the process.
Let me know if you have any further trouble.
Could you please click the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page and let me know what dead links you found? We just updated the support site and I thought they were all fixed, but I think there are a few still lingering. It would be greatly appreciated as I'd like to fix them.

Just so you are aware, the support link, I provided (http://mindplacesupport.com/kasina-support), is hard coded into the Mindplace Kasina editor V 1.5.1.364.
Thought I would mention this so it can be fixed in future versions.
