Has anyone tried using an external USB power supply?
Has anyone tried using an external USB power supply? I have a number of blue tooth devices (headset, cell phone, etc.) that I charge either from my computer or through an external USB power supply that plugs into a wall outlet or my car's cigarette lighter.
The connection is the same, USB mini. I'm certainly not an electrician but isn't there a de facto standard for USB devices. If I power my Procyan using a USB power adapter, could this cause damage or void my warranty?
Re: Has anyone tried using an external USB power supply?
I've been using a USB/Mains power adapter ocassionally with the Procyon for quite a while. They all put out 5v DC I think into the USB cable. I can't see how it would void the warranty as plugging into your computer USB will supply eaxactly the same thing.

Thanks Synaesthesia, I think this will solve most if not all the of the sound issues that people are talking about.

Hey Bevital;
The separate USB power supply is an excellent way to rid yourself of that ground-loop (causing the hum) that you were experiencing and not have to keep loading up the device with batteries.

Thanks, that is great news Andy. With out a doubt I can say my sound is now crystal clear, and the Procyon is everything I had hoped for and more.
