Seeking workflow suggestions for Mind Works Station ==> Kasina
Hi -
I'm a brand new MWS user and creator,
and I"m looking for ideas and suggestions on structuring my workflow.
What I'm doing first --
1. I am creating a series of 7 sessions, 20 minutes each,
basic entrainment from beta ==> Schumann (7.83).
2. Each session will have a different predominant color
as I'm using the 7 chakras as a metaphor and framework.
Session 1 - red
Session 2 - orange etc...
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet are the 7 session colors.
3. Each Kasina session has a stereo guided imagery component, consisting of...
--main central voice
-- left ear suggestions panned full left
-- right ear suggestions panned full right
-- music
So... the way I'm thinking of doing this is
to make a full stereo guided imagery audio track first,
in my sound editing program.
Then adding it to MWS by adding an audio component to the MWS spectrascope program.
BUT..... I'm willing to learn how to do this all in MWS
if there is a consensus that long term, I'll be able to do lots more
with synchronizing lights and tones, and various sound effects, etc... right in MWS.
Please share your thoughts on workflow with me,
especially anyone who has made hypnosis sessions or guided imagery sessions...
Thanks so much!

You can record in Mind Workstation but I wouldn't really recommend doing it this way. You can't pass through effects plugins or have good metering or edit dynamics/normalize, and a whole slew of other things. A dedicated sound editor is much better for this task.
I would keep the masters as wav files while you are working.
You can experiment with 48khz sample rate but for voice it wouldn't be necessary as that is low bandwidth. The point is to choose a sample rate for your project (44.1khz or 48khz) and stick with it. MWS seems to run a bit smoother with 44.1 although recent improvements have been made.
Watch my videos on why colors may not come out like you expect in closed eyes and my suggested methods for altering them. The videos detail a increasingly complex 'effect' but this is only a tool that teaches how to create SpectraStrobe and suggested workflows. There is a lot of information contained in them and it is best served there rather than writing it out.

Thanks Scott... pretty much what I expected ...so I
ll stay with the audio recording software ... always good to check one's assumptions though,
when working with new software.
I have already watched your vids,
and was startled at the effect of blood vessels in eyelids,
but instantly, of course, knew it to be true from my many years
ofworkiing with white lights on DAVID ,,,,
Really appreciate your help...
I'll pay it forward when I know something...

That's good to hear Jim. Are there things that you would like to see covered in future videos. I pretty much have laid the plans for this series and will get right back to it once I finish a bit of programming I am working on.
I am always open to suggestions and getting a better sense of what people want to learn.

Scott, I have a suggestion. I'd like to create tunnel visualizations that would show with my Kasina glasses. Is this possible? A tutorial on how to create visualization effects for the Kasina using MWS would be great. :)

Hi Chet,
I suppose you mean 'virtual' tunnels? There is definitely a lot more art than science where this is involved. But I have some ideas.
