Re: Unified Procyon Editor & Driver Installer
Hi,
I am not sure this is the right place for this, but most of the other threads I saw about installation problems referred to older versions of the installer that I am not using.
I am using a Procyon v2.1.4. The software I am trying to install is from here: http://mindplacesupport.com/Downloads/ProcyonSetup.zip. I have run the setup program on two different computers -- one running Vista Home and the other XP Home -- selecting to install both the editor and the Rev2 driver. In both cases, when I plug my Procyon into my computer with the USB cable, the Procyon powers on automatically, but the computer does not recognize that a device has been plugged in, and when I run the editor, I cannot get it to connect to the device. I have tried every combination of things I can imagine including:
* rebooting at various points in the process
* installing the Rev1 driver
* installing the Rev1 and Rev2 drivers
* changing the com port (on my Vista machine, the only port selectable is COM3, which does not connect; on XP, no ports are selectable, and attempting to run a segment results in the "COM4 is not available" message)
* switching the Procyon between Session and PC modes
* powering on the Procyon before plugging it into the computer
* running editor before plugging in the Procyon, and plugging in the Procyon before running the editor
I also ran the setup from the installation disk that came with my Procyon (on the Vista machine; my XP machine does not have a CD-ROM drive), and got the same results.
Please advise. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Joshua
Re: Unified Procyon Editor & Driver Installer
Hello Joshua;
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble installing the Procyon Driver for your Rev2 Procyon.
Have you tried another USB cable?

Re: Unified Procyon Editor & Driver Installer difficulties
Andy,
Thank you for your reply. I had not, but I found another mini-b cable today, and sure enough that was it. All is working well now.
Thanks again.
